Michelle from Full of Her Travels nominated me for the Versatile Blogger Award. Thanks, Michelle! If you’re not familiar with the award, the rules are here. Part of accepting this award is to give the award to 15 excellent blogs I follow regularly or have recently discovered. I recently discovered I didn’t have WordPress emailing me new posts for some of the blogs I would have been following regularly if I’d done it correctly, so I’m still going to include those. While it’s not a requirement, I elected to only nominate blogs that haven’t already earned the award (as far as I could see) and to list the blogs I nominated in the order I followed them (as closely as I could).
The other part of accepting the award is to tell the person who nominated me seven things about myself. Since I’ll be doing that in this post below the nominations, anyone who cares to can find out the same things. Some of the sentences technically tell more than one ‘thing’ so you really get about a dozen things.

Seven Things About Me
1. I recently started a job working with kids, which seems to surprise some who know my husband and I don’t have kids and don’t plan to.
2. I was unemployed for close to a year before starting this job, which is the only time I’ve been unemployed in my adult life.
3. I am pretty independent, so it was a big leap for me to quit my job to move to Georgia (and then Germany) not knowing when I would be able to have my own income again.
4. When we moved to Germany, it was the first time I had ever been to Europe.
5. Actually, it was the first time I’ve ever even been to a country that required a passport to get there because when I went to Canada, Mexico, and the Bahamas I only needed a birth certificate.
6. I still don’t have a tourist passport, and need to get one because there are a lot of places I want to see while we’re in Europe and the no-fee passport is just for Germany.
7. I’m currently working on getting into graduate school to pursue a Master of Arts in counseling psychology.

7 things about myself
1. Last week I cut my finger deep and wide while slicing a bar of kuviture while upset. Hurt like hell still..especially when typing. It has not completely heal and did not needed stitches.
2. I have been going natural (hair) for 2 years now and it is not easy.
3. I am afraid of dogs but would love to have a little free spirited doggy one day.
4. Almost every week we drive to different cities to look for our future home.
5. Would love to have children or atleast a child but my body does not.
6. Not an adoption type person and have nothing against it.
7. Since I been living here I am enjoying my creative side.

1. Ouch! Hope it heals soon. 2. I can’t remember the last time I had natural hair lol. I tried to dye back to close to my natural color a few years ago so I could try to and go figure it faded back to red. I was actually debating if I feel up to dying it tonight because my roots are showing. 3. I would recommend starting off with a small dog then and maybe getting one from somewhere that would let you spend some time with one before you get it and/or spending time with different types of dogs. Most of them are nothing to be afraid of and in fact most I encounter just want to be petted and/or cuddled. 4. That could be fun. Good luck on finding the next place you want to be. 5-6. Sorry to hear that. If you feel like you want to nurture children but adopting isn’t for you there are always other areas like working with kids or getting in a mentoring program (I don’t know what Germany has but in America the big one seems to be Big Brothers, Big Sisters) that could be options. 7. Glad to hear it. I’ve been enjoying mine as well. Thanks for sharing 
Red hair is hot! Because it is rare and very beautiful….just my opinion…but I look to look at people with red hair. IF they have green eyes, pasty, and a few freckle I am mesmerize. It is just something about their rare beauty and make them stand out from looking like everyone else. So if you have red hair keep it Amanda it is hot!

I’m really amused to have found another person who loves kids but doesn’t want to have her own! People find it weird whenever they find that out about me.
